Since Oct 29th, 2017 Belavia has changed its baggage allowance rules. November 18th, 2019 Belavia updated hand luggage rules and lunched new Economy Class tariffs: Promo, Light, Smart, Flex.

As a result, for Economy Class baggage allowance depends on the selected tariff: from only hand luggage in Promo and Light to 1 piece of check-in baggage weighing up to 32 kg + 1 piece of hand luggage up to 10 kg in Flex tariff. For Business Class the allowance rules are 2 pieces of check-in baggage weighing up to 32 kg each + 2 pieces up to 10 kg of hand luggage.
The fee for exceeding by weight, by size or by number is €50 / $60 / £50.

So, under the new rules from the end of October 2017 and update from November 2019 the free baggage allowance in Economy Class for 1 person is:

  • – 1 piece of hand luggage up to 10 kg and 1 piece up to 23 kg of check-in baggage for Smart;

Additional Belavia Free Baggage Allowance Rules

In addition, each Belavia passenger can carry a following items free of charge:

  • – 1 handbag or 1 briefcase, or 1 backpack or 1 case (bag) with a laptop, camera, video camera or other electronic device (max weight 5 kg, max size 40x30x10 cm), or 1 suit in a suit bag, or one parcel of purchases from Duty Free shop;
  • – baby cradle / stroller, car seat or booster when following with a child 0-2 years old. As well as a wheelchair or other types of vehicles for passengers with reduced mobility.

How to Save Money on Baggage Flying with Belavia

Here we share with you a few tips how to save money flying with Belavia and do not pay extra for excess baggage. Since we already know check-in and hand baggage rules in Economy and Business Class and €50 / $60 / £50 fee for exceeding :

  1. For instance, as a passenger of Economy Class (tariff Smart or Flex) you have two bags 10 kg each. Under those circumstances you can pack your baggage into one bag making 1 piece of check-in baggage and you won’t have to pay 50 euros for the second piece of baggage.
  2. Another example, as a passenger of Economy Class (tariff Smart or Flex) your baggage weighs from 24 to 42 kg. In this case, you may split your baggage into a checked-in bag (up to 23 kg for Smart tariff, up to 32 kg for Flex tariff) and hand luggage (up to 10 kg). Otherwise, it will also be necessary to pay 50 euros.
