Half-Marathon 2020 is expected to become the most massive race ever held in Belarus. Runners limit increased by 2000 compared to last year to reach a record 42,000.
Depending on the training level and desire, participants can choose and run one of 3 distances: 5.5, 10.55 or 21.1 km. Entrance fees start from 13 rubles (5.5 EUR) – the cost of early (until May 10) registration for the route of 5.5 km. The maximum amount will be 100 rubles (about 40 EUR) – this is if you sign up for a distance of 21.097 km the day before the race. At the same time, schoolchildren, students, pensioners, Chernobyl liquidators and people with disabilities will be able to run free.
The kit includes a branded T-shirt, rooms with an electronic chip and souvenirs from sponsors.
Minsk Half-Marathon 2020 Route
This year Minsk Half-Marathon planned on September 13 and will take place along a new route.
The main race for 21.1 km starts on Lenin Street, after which it will turn onto Independence Avenue and make a circle under the bridge between the buildings of the Belarusian State University and the Pedagogical University. Then the participants will run along Karl Marx Street, return to the avenue near the Kupalovsky Theater, get to Victory Square, from which they will get to Kommunisticheskaya Street and sweep along the roads near the Svisloch River. After Storozhevskaya Street, the convoy will turn left and fall on Pobediteley Avenue. Half marathon runners will get to the Minsk Arena, run around it and rush back. By tradition, the race will end at the Sports Palace.
For the first time, the first three places at each distance will have cash prizes. The prize fund will be formed not from the contributions of the participants, but from the funds of the one of Belorussian bank.
